Question Format
All 60 questions are scenario-based. Most are multiple choice with 4 options; some are multiple-response items — each item states how many responses to select (multiple-response items are rolling into the simulator). Questions are drawn from real-world situations you might encounter when designing and deploying Claude-powered systems.
Scoring
The CCAR-F uses a scaled scoring system: raw percentage is converted to a 100–1000 scale. The formula is 100 + (raw_pct × 900). A score of 720 or higher is a pass. This means you need approximately 69% correct to pass. Your score report shows your overall scaled score, pass/fail result, and the percentage of items answered correctly in each domain.

Delivery
Since June 30, 2026, the CCAR-F has been delivered through Pearson VUE — either online with OnVUE remote proctoring or in person at a Pearson VUE test center. Plan for about 135 minutes of total seat time (including check-in) for the 120-minute exam. You get your scaled score on screen as soon as you finish; test centers also print a report. Anthropic's official practice exam was retired in the move to Pearson VUE — the exam guide's 12 sample questions are all that remain, which makes a full timed simulation the only way to rehearse the real format.
Fees, Validity & Retakes
The exam costs $125 USD per attempt. Partner-tier discounts apply: Select, Preferred, and Global Premier partners get 50% off, with Global Premier partners getting 100% off through August 31, 2026. A passing score is valid for 12 months; before it expires, you can take a free, open-book online renewal assessment to extend it another 12 months. A lapsed certification requires a full retake. If you don't pass, you must wait 14 days after a first attempt, 30 days after a second, or 90 days after a third before retrying, up to a maximum of 4 attempts in any rolling 12-month period, with the fee due each time. Reschedule or cancel at least 24 hours before your appointment for a full refund. Certification is currently available only to organizations in the Claude Partner Network. Register through Anthropic's Partner Academy using an email on a recognized partner company domain — personal email addresses aren't accepted.
Is CCAR-F the Same as CCA-F?
Yes — CCAR-F is the official Pearson VUE exam code; CCA-F is the community abbreviation.
